In Catholic masses all over this country, priests are injecting politics into their sermons, condemning the Obama administration for the new Health and Human Services regulations that religious institutions must offer contraceptive benefits to its members. It doesn't require members to violate their personal beliefs by taking advantage of the benefit, mind you. But this new regulation acknowledges that there are some who may work in a Catholic hospital who may not have the same stricture against contraceptives and want it to be part of their health services. But that's perhaps a too nuanced view:

You have to realize that "Obama's war on religion" is a made up issue. There is no war on religion.
If you want to use contraception, or get an abortion you can BUT if you are opposed to those things then you don't have to use them.
That is called FREEDOM.

when a religious church wants to also become a hospital, insurance co, etc...that is fine if they want to be supported only by religious or charitable funds...but i suspect that the religions are branching out and expecting to receive funding by the government not associated with religious freedom- but just as the rest of hospitals receiving government funding have to have available contraceptions for patients wanting them, then they want to say their religious freedoms are being abused..the churches have a choice in this..stop accepting government funding and let your parishes support your hospitals, schools, etc and you can rule your hospitals and schools however you like...medicare and other programs that are on the chopping block could use that funding

Yeah. I thought the rule they were going ape@!$%# over was on INSURANCE COMPANIES and the minimum supported medical procedures a policy should cover. If the CAtholic church doesn't want to buy insurance for their employees from a company that has to provide contraception, they are more than free to use some of their trillions of dollars to self insure. All those bitching about religious liberty need to grow up.
